Blasting around your local pond or lake is a great way to have fun or just relax. When the weather warms up it’s definitely time to hit the water. Traxxas knows how to have fun on the water and answers the call with the Blast, Spartan, and M41 boat models.

Rocketing across the water and carving corners is tons of fun, but in order to maintain your M41, Spartan, or Blast at a peak level of performance you’ll need to perform some general maintenance. Just because your not running through dirt and mud doesn't mean your immune from some simple maintenance. Let's take a look at a few quick maintenance tips to help keep your boat in tiptop shape.
Begin by inspecting your boat for any damage to the hull, propeller, trim tabs, rudder, etc. A nick, scratch, or bend can cause less than optimal performance from your boat.

After each running session be sure that the motor is dry, especially the bearings, then apply a light coating of oil to the bearings.
Remove and thoroughly dry the drive cable.
Then lubricate the cable with the marine grease that is included with your boat.
While the drive cable is removed this is a good time to dry and lubricate the bushings in the drive strut. This is also a good chance to inspect the prop up close for any signs of damage as well. The slightest nick can hinder performance.
Once everything is good to go, reinstall the drive cable and make sure it is secured to the collet. This is also a great opportunity to make sure all the screws in the drivetrain are secure.
Be sure to store your Blast or Spartan with the top hatch removed. This will allow any remaining moisture or condensation to evaporate.
