Here's what you need to update your XO-1® to the Latest Specs

There’s nothing else like the XO-1. The moment Traxxas announced the “eXperts Only” machine, it immediately went viral as the world’s first 100+ mph Ready-to-Race Supercar. Engineered to the hilt for maximum high-speed performance, the XO-1 remains the only RTR car equipped to not only achieve over 100 mph right out of the box but hit the record-setting speed with Traxxas reliability. For 2022, the XO-1 is better than ever with enhanced handling and even greater durability. If you’ve got an original XO-1, it’s easy to upgrade your model to the latest specs. Here’s an up-close look at the new parts and how they raise the bar even higher on XO-1 performance.

Here’s everything new for the 2022 XO-1.

Aero Improvements

The 2022 XO-1 doesn’t appear dramatically different from the original car, but a closer look reveals some important changes to the aero package. The 2022 XO-1 gets a vented body with foam supports and a new splitter and rear wing. The canard-equipped front splitter and high-downforce polycarbonate rear wing have been revised to increase total downforce. The new package also balances the downforce between the front and rear wheels, resulting in improved traction and handling response. When you’re hustling your XO-1 around a parking lot road course, you’ll feel the extra grip every time you turn in. Like the original XO-1, the 2022 model also includes a low-drag rear wing just for 100+ mph speed-run use.

Aero balance
The XO-1 precisely balances front and rear downforce for responsive, predictable handling.
XO-1 bodiesThe new body features a rear vent that allows air to escape rather than circulating under the shell and creating a downforce-robbing parachute effect. The body is available in completely clear polycarbonate so you can get creative with the wide variety Traxxas ProGraphix® paints. If you’re short on time or skill (or both), choose the ProGraphix version for a super-fast finish with no masking—just spray over the factory-applied graphics with a single color for an instant pro-style paint job.
XO-1 bodies
The XO-1’s new high-downforce polycarbonate wing presses the tires firmly to the pavement. The new wing comes complete with mounts and hardware for a secure hold. The drag-reducing “100 mph” wing included with the original XO-1 is also included with the 2022 model, no changes there.

Differential internals
The new front splitter resists flexing under the greater aerodynamic load of its new, larger canards (aka “side wings”). New front and rear foam bumpers support and align the body for rock-solid stability on the way to 100+ mph. The rear diffuser is unchanged aero-wise, but it has been updated to accept the new rear bumper.

Durability Enhancements

The XO-1 was already a rugged machine before the 2022 refresh, but the pursuit for ever-greater Traxxas Tough durability is relentless. Heavy Duty arms are now standard for even greater resistance to crash damage. If you're running in cold weather, the HD arms are especially welcome. Traxxas’ proprietary composite retains its resiliency at low temperatures that can make conventional plastics brittle. In the steering department, the bellcrank system’s input arm is now steel. It doesn’t get any tougher than that.

HD parts
The XO-1’s durability upgrades are easy to miss if you aren’t looking carefully, but they significantly improve the supercar’s ruggedness. The steering bellcrank arm is now steel, and the latest Heavy Duty suspension arms molded in Traxxas’ proprietary high-strength, cold-resistant composite are standard.
HD arms
If you’re purchasing the HD arms separately to update your XO-1, you can choose from different color options: black, blue, green, red, and orange.

Extra Convenience

Just a small update here, but it’s a big one for convenience: the XO-1’s waterproof receiver box now has a port for tool-free access to the receiver’s Link button. Most drivers don’t need to get at the Link button very often, but when you do, it’s a real time saver when all you have to do is pop out the port’s rubber plug. The entire receiver box complete with fresh seals and grease is under $15, so it’s a no-brainer to swap one in the next time your XO-1 is on the bench for maintenance.
