The Velineon Brushless Power System is legendary for the extreme speed it delivers in Traxxas VXL models. For the new Hoss 4X4 VXL, Traxxas optimized the Velineon formula with the massive 540XL for big-tire performance and hard-hitting torque. The result is maximum monster mayhem.
The new 540XL motor is 25% larger than the Velineon 3500 found in the Bandit, Slash, Stampede, and Rustler VXL models. The 540XL’s extra length makes room for a longer rotor with a more powerful magnetic field, and that means torque—lots of torque! The 2400 kV powerhouse delivers rocket-boost acceleration and wheelies on demand, without compromising top speed. Install a 3-cell Traxxas Power Cell LiPo and optional speed gearing, and the Hoss 4X4 becomes a 60+ mph machine!
The Velineon VXL-3s speed control also has a few new tricks for maximum performance in the Hoss. A cooling fan is now standard for run-after-run reliability, and 6.5 mm connectors make sure power flows freely to the 540XL motor. The speed control arrives calibrated and ready to rock in Sport Mode, with Race Mode and Training mode easily accessed via the EZ-Set button, just as they are in other Traxxas models.
