Are you ready to unlock the 70+ mph potential of your Rustler XL-5? The Velineon brushless power system is the essential upgrade that makes it possible. The Velineon VXL-3s speed control and 3500 motor replace the XL-5 speed control and Titan 550 motor to unleash over-the-top horsepower and RPM for top speeds second only to the 100 mph XO-1. And since the Rustler is brushless ready from the start, no modifications are needed to make the jump to brushless power. Installation is easy, and waterproof construction lets you enjoy Velineon power in all types of wet conditions including snow. The Drag Slash’s extra-long, extra-realistic wheelie bar is also a terrific accessory for other 2WD Traxxas models, including the Rustler VXL. The wheelie bar installs in just a few minutes to make your Rustler drag-strip ready. Five height settings and two pairs of wheels in large and small diameters allow you to fine-tune for your setup. Launch with the front end low, lift the wheels high for wild wheelstands, or find the sweet spot for your strip in between. You can do it all with outstanding style in all-black or new black chrome.
The Rustler VXL’s potent off-the-line punch gives driveshafts a workout, especially in high-traction conditions. Steel constant velocity shafts offer the ultimate in efficient power delivery and long-lasting durability. Their all-metal construction delivers unbeatable strength, and the heavy-duty universal joints resist binding under power so you get maximum acceleration and top speed every time you pull the trigger. Silicone boots seal the joints so that grease stays in and dirt stays out. The #1951R steel CV shafts also fit Stampede and BIGFOOT 2WD trucks.
Enhance your Rustler’s strength and style to with genuine Traxxas machined-aluminum upgrades. Each part begins as a 6061-T6 billet, then computer-controlled machining reveals the finished shape. A bright anodized finish completes the part, ready to install with a precise fit and Traxxas-tough durability. Steering blocks and axle carriers include 5x11 mm rubber-sealed ball bearings, and steering bellcranks include threadlocked hardware for secure installation. Traxxas has you covered with color choices too--all the aluminum parts are offered in red, blue, green, orange, and pink.
Traxxas Heavy Duty suspension arms feature a computer-designed shape and a new, proprietary composite formulation that is highly resistant to breaking when subjected to high loads and hard landings—even in cold weather that can make traditional composites brittle. The HD arms are direct replacements for the Rustler’s stock arms, and you can choose classic black or give your truck a shot of color with blue, green, white, orange, or red.
Traxxas aluminum camber links give you the ability to tune precisely your Rustler XL-5’s camber angles when you upgrade from fixed-length camber links. They also trim weight if you’re replacing the Rustler VXL’s steel links. No matter which Rustler you have, the bright anodized finish in your choice of orange, red, blue, or pink will score extra style points. The premium 7075-T6 aluminum turnbuckles come assembled with heavy-duty rod ends and hollow balls, and include a high-quality 5 mm adjusting wrench.
It’s a professional-grade suspension setup, all in one package! The complete Big Bore shock set arrives fully assembled, ready to fill with the included premium silicone oil and install on your Rustler in minutes. Hard-anodized aluminum bodies, PTFE-coated shock bores, titanium-nitride coated shafts, and dual silicone seals deliver near frictionless operation for ultra-smooth damping action and long-lasting performance. Progressive-rate springs are installed, and the included spacers allow you to set ride height and spring preload.
Bring heat to the street with Anaconda rubber for your Rustler! The Anaconda’s unique rubber compound balances tenacious hard-surface grip with long-lasting wear resistance. The low-profile tread design and molded-foam inserts deliver pure pavement performance, and you can get the Anacondas on black-chrome All-Star wheels or the new RXT design in green, orange, and black. No matter which wheel you choose, the tires are mounted to the rims using TRX Ultra Premium tire glue for a super-strong TSM-rated bond that holds tight when you lay down Velineon brushless horsepower.
Engineered for the competition-grade Drag Slash, the new Pro Series Magnum 272R transmission is also an outstanding upgrade for all Traxxas 2WD models including the Rustler. The all-new 272R is equipped with a bevel-gear differential that’s sealed to hold silicone oil. Changing the oil inside to tune diff action is fast and easy thanks to the transmission’s quick-access hatch. The case halves are an all-new design with a thick 3.2 mm aluminum motor plate. The all-metal geartrain features a new integrated top gear and hardened-steel input shaft for unbeatable strength and durability.
Traxxas telemetry components and the free Traxxas Link App allow you to view and save speed, temperature, voltage, and RPM data from your Rustler VXL in real time as you drive using optional sensors (sold separately). Bluetooth technology connects your smart device to the Rustler’s TQi transmitter when you install the Traxxas Link Wireless Module. The Telemetry Expander installs on the chassis to accept temperature and voltage sensors, up to six sensors in all (sensors sold separately). The GPS sensor taps satellite feedback for precise speed readings regardless of terrain.
