What one upgrade makes the most dramatic difference in your Titan-powered Stampede’s performance? That’s easy: it’s the Velineon brushless power system. The Velineon VXL-3s speed control and 3500 motor double the Stampede’s top speed to over 65 mph when combined with an 11.1V LiPo battery. The Stampede is Brushless Ready from the start, so no modifications are needed to make the jump to high-output Velineon power. Installation is easy, and waterproof construction lets you enjoy superpowered Stampede fun in all types of wet conditions including snow. You can even trade in your brushed equipment for a discount on a Velineon system with the Power-Up Program.
Fact: Stampedes love to wheelie. The Stampede VXL includes a wheelie bar which is also available separately for the Stampede XL-5. You’ll only need a few minutes to install the bar, and with four height positions to choose from, it’s easy to set up your Stampede to wheelie the way you like. Set the bar to hold the wheels low for peak control, go sky-high for exciting stunts, or choose one of the two in-between positions. The bar just pops into each position, no tools needed. Also available: aluminum wheels with white-letter tires to replace the wheelie bar’s stock wheels. Ball bearings are included, and you can choose a red or blue anodized finish.
For next-level drivetrain strength and efficiency, Traxxas steel constant velocity shafts are the ultimate upgrade—especially when you’ve got a Stampede VXL putting down massive Velineon brushless power. The steel CV shafts’ all-metal construction delivers unbeatable strength, and the heavy-duty universal joints resist binding under power so you get maximum acceleration and top speed every time you pull the trigger. Silicone boots seal the joints so grease stays in and dirt stays out. The #1951R steel CV shafts also fit Rustler and Bigfoot 2WD trucks.
Traxxas does aluminum best, with custom-machined parts designed to deliver certified strength, style, and precision. Each part begins as a 6061-T6 billet, then computer-controlled machining processes shape the completed component. Vivid anodizing is the finishing touch; red, blue, green, orange, and pink assure you’ll find the perfect color to match or contrast your machine. Steering blocks and axle carriers include large 5x11 mm rubber-sealed ball bearings, and the steering bellcranks include threadlocked hardware for secure installation.
Traxxas Heavy Duty suspension arms are an extra-affordable way to increase your Stampede’s strength and add a big hit of style with blue, green, white, orange, red, and black color options. No matter which color you choose, the HD arms’ computer-designed shape and new, proprietary composite formulation make them highly resistant to damage when subjected to high loads and hard landings—even in cold weather that can make traditional composites brittle. The HD arms are direct replacements for the Stampede’s stock arms, and they install in just minutes.
Traxxas aluminum turnbuckle camber links give you the ability to tune your Stampede XL-5’s camber angles precisely when you upgrade from fixed-length camber links, and trim weight if you’re replacing the Stampede VXL’s steel links. No matter which Stampede you have, the bright anodized finish will score extra style points in your choice of orange, red, blue, or pink. The premium 7075-T6 aluminum turnbuckles come assembled with heavy-duty rod ends and hollow balls, and include a high-quality 5 mm adjusting wrench.
Aluminum shock caps are an ultra-easy way to increase the durability of your Stampede’s Ultra Shocks, and add a jolt of anodized color. The machined aluminum caps are available in red, blue, green, orange, and pink, and include shoulder screws to complete installation. Just unscrew the stock caps, twist the anodized caps into place, and your Ultra Shocks will be ready to hit the dirt in style. The aluminum caps resist loosening and pop-offs when high speeds through punishing terrain and massive jump landings stress your Stampede’s shocks the most.
Tires are a huge part any monster truck’s personality and performance. When you bolt a set of 2.8″ Sledgehammers onto your Stampede, that personality becomes “unstoppable extreme-terrain monster” with performance to match. The Sledgehammer’s moto-style tread design features tall, chunky knobs to grab loose and rugged surfaces, with wide spacing between the tread elements for excellent mud- and debris-shedding capability. TSM-rated construction, long-wearing compound, foam inserts, and aggressive 5-spoke styling complete the package. Mounted Sledgehammers are available in two offsets for use with Stampede, Rustler, and Hoss: 2WD front / 4WD front & rear and 2WD rear.
The Traxxas Drag Slash is burning up the straight-line scene with its race-winning features, and one of the biggest is the all-new Magnum 272R transmission. This fortified gearbox is also an outstanding upgrade for all Traxxas 2WD models. The 272R features an oil-filled bevel-gear differential that’s fast and easy to tune thanks to the quick-access hatch. The case halves are an all-new design with a 3.2 mm aluminum motor plate. The all-metal geartrain features a new, integrated top gear and hardened-steel input shaft for unbeatable strength and durability. If building the ultimate high-performance Stampede is your mission, the Magnum 272R transmission is a must-have.
Here’s an upgrade with a little price and a big benefit. Traxxas aluminum wheel nuts in bright anodized colors are worth adding to your Stampede just for the custom looks alone, but what really makes them a must-have are the sharp serrations machined into the flanges. The serrations bite into the wheel when you tighten them, providing extra holding power to keep your wheels where they belong—on your Stampede.
