How do I get Traxxas Warranty Service?

All warranty claims should be handled directly through Traxxas and not your hobby dealer. If you suspect you have a warranty claim, contact Traxxas toll free at 1-888-TRAXXAS (1-888-872-9927). Many times we are able to immediately solve problems over the phone. Traxxas Corporation assumes responsibility for their products and will repair or replace any defective product at their sole discretion.

Our toll-free customer service line provides direct access to our highly experienced factory trained representatives. In most cases, replacement items are sent out the same day the request is received. In the event that factory service is required, our technicians are usually able to make repairs within a 3-5 working day time frame after we receive the product.

In addition to these warranties, Traxxas offers an extended service plan for electronic components after the 30-day warranty has expired. This plan states that Traxxas will repair electronic components at any time throughout the life of the part for a flat rate plus $5.00 for shipping and handling. The electronic components covered under this service plan include certain Traxxas transmitters, receivers, servos, motors, and speed controls. Traxxas also offers a Lifetime Engine Replacement Plan for nitro-powered models as part of our Power-Up™ Program. This plan allows you, at any time throughout the lifetime of your TRX Pro.15, TRX 2.5, or TRX 3.3 engine, to exchange it for a brand-new engine at 50% of the suggested retail price of the new TRX engine. In addition to using this program to replace your engine with a new, identical engine, you can also use the Power-Up Program to upgrade from the TRX Pro .15 to the TRX 2.5, or from the TRX 2.5 to the TRX 3.3. Traxxas Lifetime Electronics Warranty

Need electronic repairs after your warranty expires? We make it easy.

Traxxas makes warranty and repair service simple. It begins with a call to 888-TRAXXAS (888-872-9927). One of our friendly and knowledgeable support technicians will help you determine the best way to get your model back in action. Often a product might appear to be defective or malfunctioning only because it is being used improperly or requires a simple adjustment. One phone call to our experienced support staff just might get you back running quickly and easily! If you do require service after your warranty expires, Traxxas will repair or replace electronic components at a fixed rate (see chart below) plus $5.00 U.S. for shipping and handling. The electronic products covered by this extended service plan include electronic speed controls, transmitters, receivers, servos, and battery chargers. Brushed motors are not covered. Prices shown are for exchange of the electronic components listed. Non-electronic repairs beyond the scope of this warranty, labor charges, etc., will be estimated separately.

Traxxas Engine Replacement Plan (ERP)

Traxxas Power-Up^® Program and the Lifetime Engine Replacement Plan

Years ago we saw a need for our customers to have an easy and affordable way to protect their investment in their Traxxas nitro model and keep the engine performance factory-fresh. Our solution is the Lifetime Engine Replacement Plan, which is part of our exclusive Power-Up Program. Engines wear out over time and need to be rebuilt. Rebuilding engines from parts can be costly and time consuming, and can be outside the mechanical skills of many enthusiasts. With the Traxxas Lifetime Engine Replacement plan, a worn out or damaged engine can be traded in for a brand-new, factory-fresh TRX^® Racing Engine right away by simply exchanging your worn engine at your local hobby store. The cost is about half the retail price of the new replacement engine. It’s less expensive than rebuilding the engine yourself and you get the peace of mind knowing your engine is brand new (not refurbished), and ready to deliver the power and reliability you expect. In many cases, installing the new engine only takes minutes and you're back in action.

Extreme Upgrades

In addition to allowing you to replace your Traxxas engine with the same model to restore original, factory-fresh performance, the Power-Up Program is the extreme-power upgrade path for any model equipped with a TRX^® 2.5 or TRX 2.5R Racing Engine. When you’re ready, you can use the plan to trade up to the TRX 3.3 Racing Engine and watch your speed and acceleration soar. The TRX 3.3 is 100% “drop-in” compatible with TRX 2.5 and 2.5R equipped models. For less than the price of an average, poorly supported aftermarket engine, you can have extreme TRX 3.3 power with 100% drop-in installation, EZ-Start^® electric starting, full Traxxas reliability and support, and power that is absolutely second to none. If you are a TRX^® Pro.15 owner, you can trade up to TRX 2.5R power or, if you dare, the TRX 3.3 Racing Engine. Available conversion kits make it easy to install the rear exhaust, slide carb equipped TRX Racing Engine in place of the TRX Pro.15. Ask your hobby dealer for all the details.
