Let’s take an in-depth look.

Method 105 Black-Chrome Wheels with Canyon Trail Tires
If you’d like to give your TRX-4 the rugged styling of Method 105 beadlocks but prefer the convenience and lower cost of glue-mounted tires, the new 8182 wheel and tire combo is for you. The Method 105 1.9″ wheel is now available in a one-piece design with blue rings and black-chrome centers that looks fantastic whether you match or contrast it with your paint scheme. Canyon RT 2.2 Tires and Method 105 2.2″ Beadlock Wheels
Traxxas offers Canyon Trail tires and Method 105 beadlock wheels in 2.2″ size for use with lift-kit-equipped TRX-4 trucks (like our Maximum Mud Bronco build), but there’s another way you can use the larger-diameter Method wheels to outfit your TRX-4, no lift required. The Canyon RT tires developed a for the TRX-6® Mercedes-Benz® G 63® AMG 6x6 have the same outside diameter as the 1.9″ Canyon Trail, but are sized to fit 2.2″ wheels. The Canyon RT tires are a perfect fit on Method 105 2.2″ beadlock wheels (available in black chrome and charcoal gray) and will give your truck a custom big-rim look as well as a wider stance. Here’s everything you need to know about installing this combo.

Lifted with 2.2″ wheels
Canyon RT tires and Method 105 2.2″ wheels deliver an aggressive look with a wider stance.
Canyon RT tires
The Canyon RT tires are sold in pairs with soft foam inserts, and feature a bidirectional tread design.
2.2 Method 105 wheels
You can get the Method 105 2.2″ wheels in charcoal grey (shown) or black chrome.

Wheel comparison
Here’s the 1.9″ Method 105 wheel (left) compared with the 2.2″ version. In addition to the larger diameter, the 2.2″ wheel is 7 mm wider.

Beadlock rings
The beadlock rings are sold separately, so you can choose a color to match or contrast your truck. Black mounting hardware is included, and silver stainless steel screws are available as an optional upgrade.
Mounted size comparison
Tire diameter is identical (give or take a millimeter) between the Canyon Trail (left) and RT designs, but the larger 2.2″ rim creates a more muscular look.

Wider offset
The 2.2″ wheels have about 7 mm more offset than the 1.9″ design, so your truck’s track width will be increased by about half an inch when you install Canyon RT tires.
Canyon RT tires
The Canyon Trail (left) and Canyon RT tires both have a tread depth of 2.8mm. The RT design is bidirectional, so you don’t have to pay attention to left and right.
